A Tip For Pet Owners

Not having pets, I never considered the risks of flea and tick collars. According to a new study by the Natural Resources Defense Council, children who play with a cat or dog while it’s wearing a flea or tick collar are exposed to up to 1,000 times the EPA’s safe level of pesticides.  For adults, it’s up to 500 times what’s safe.

According to the chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics council on environmental health, “Pills that pets take internally seem to be safer.”  Read more at Shine from Yahoo.
