Headlines: Are Flame Retardants Safe?

More on flame retardants. The Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies has published an excellent overview of flame retardants, their uses, and their health effects:

“Are Flame Retardants Safe? Growing Evidence Says ‘No’,” by Elizabeth Grossman (Yale Environment 360, 9/29/2011).

The article addresses baby products. It highlights OrbitBaby and BabyBjorn as companies working to eliminate the need for flame retardants “by using fabrics whose density and composition enable them to meet flammability standards without chemical additives.”
