Sunblock

Sweet William and his dada and I are getting ready for our trip to New Orleans for Jazz Fest. It’s not exactly William’s first fest — last year, seven weeks before he was born, he kicked and punched when he heard the Treme Brass Band.

On my packing list are a couple of good sunblocks that pose low health concerns. California Baby’s SPF 30+ Sunblock Stick applies easily and fits in my pocket. Badger SPF 30+, in lotion form, is another safe choice. Both are physical sunblocks, which means fewer chemicals are absorbed through the skin, and both are unscented. They’re safe for baby, and his parents use them, too.

Yes, there’s a white residue on Sweet William’s skin, but that’s how I know he’s protected.
